My latest love

I happen to love Olive Garden (even though my husband calls it Italian fast food). I drool over their salad, and I am pretty sure I have come extremely close to duplicating (replicating?) it.

*Dole bagged salad: Classic Romaine (with shredded carrots and cabbage) FYI- Olive Garden just uses bagged salad anyway!
*A can of black olives (and I am making the salad, so I can have as many as I want instead of 1 per person)
*1 red onion
*2-3 tomatoes
*Ken's dressing

2 bags of salad will last me a couple of weeks, and when they are $1 a bag, you just can't beat that for a delicious lunch every day. Yum.

First, that is hilarious about the olives.

Second, WHERE are you finding salad that is $1 a bag? I wonder if Texas has some sort of additional tax on leafy-greens I don't know about.

Amen on the olives part. Why is it called OLIVE Garden if they only give you like one olive?

I love red onions on salad.
I saw salad for $1 a bag the other day. I was worried it was their old out-dated salad bags. I bought some and we ate salad like crazy just in case they were expiring.

this might be a super long comment...
thanks for sharing your recipe! i'm with heather. i'm always, like, and please don't scrimp on the olives man! also, you can buy bottles of olive garden's italian dressing... and it may have even been cheaper than the stuff at the store. found that out when we ordered olive garden to-go. i asked for two sides of dressing. got home and there were two BOTTLES in the bag. yeah... geniuses. i probably just spelled geniuses wrong...
i SO want yall to live close too! so remember us when you're considering a move back to texas! :)
you're welcome for the dinner suggestion. :) i bet yours ARE better. i like fresh strawberries better than strawberry topping. that was my only thought about them while i was eating them (you know, in between "mmmmmmm"s).

Olive Garden is definitely one of my fave places. Salad, breadsticks, pasta fagiole- can't be beat.

I happen to be obsessed with it too....I think they actually sell their signature dressing at the restaurant.

Salad! That's what I need to eat for lunch. I love going to Olive Garden at lunch time for their free refills on soup, salad, and that awesome frozen strawberry lemonade. Yum.

Thanks for posting that! I love it also - and it IS italian fast food but it's the best Newnan has to offer so I love going there!

Don't you love it when you can figure out how to have your favorites at home? I found the recipe for Chili's salsa and for the Old Spaghetti Factory's salad dressing on http://copycat.cdkitchen.com/newrecipes.html. LOVE IT!!!

If you are eating that for lunch every day, then you must be melting away! Is that salad before or after the oreos???
