Anyway- it is a HUGE struggle to get her to sleep each night. Owen lays his head on his pillow and is asleep about a minute later. Hazel, on the other hand, takes a good hour. Usually this hour is filled with yelling and repeatedly getting out of bed and crying and asking for a million different things. I have learned that if I let her take a toy or a book to bed with her, she is more likely to stay in bed. She still takes about an hour to fall asleep, but at least she is staying in her stinking bed, right?! So- the other night, I walked in to check on her....make sure she was finally asleep....and this is how I found her.
I scooped them all out so she wouldn't roll on top of them, and she had at least 30 toys in there with her (some buried like a pirate's treasure under the pillows). Whatever makes her go to sleep.

That is so cute! I know you don't think it is, but the picture is pretty dang cute. It looks like her hair is getting darker.
She is so precious. I love the silky pj's. That would definitely help ME fall asleep!!
WOW...if I had all that crap in my bed, there is no way I could fall asleep. But, she is just as precious as ever. Miss her.
hey my niece (now 10) has an a sleeping "issue" for some years now. she has TONS of stuffed animals so she can pile them up around her so she's surrounded by them. kids are strange.
So cute. My cousin had a picture on her blog with that same thing. Her daughter bed looked like shrine.
Stick to your guns - so the pediatrician told you to let her sleep in your room? I still have issues with my 2 - 12 & 14 and they STILL want to sleep WITH me though they would settle for the pull-out sofa in our room. It is a nightly issue.
Hey, you do what you gotta do! Hayden takes 2-10 books to bed with him everynight. I hope that you are able to break this phase soon.
I wish I was like Owen. It takes me a while to go to sleep too. Craig is asleep BEFORE his head hits the pillow. Ugh, It makes me so mad!!!
I LOVE the title of this post.
So sad, but so cute. I should refer you to my other Bible: Healthy Sleep, Happy Child. Have you heard of it? It's been a lifesaver. Not that I'm your pediatrician or anything . . .
Love your title! Very clever. I know I'm old as the earth, but I don't see a thing wrong with Hazel having all the books and animals she wants if it will help her sleep in her own bed. xoxoox
