New Habit

I am addicted to Craig's list. Within the past two weeks I have bought 2 sofas, an armoire, a desk, a bed, a tv, 2 dining tables, and 4 chairs. That's right. There are many stories to go along with these purchases...one of which involves renting a uhaul and making a two hour drive three different times (not to mention spending a ton of money!!!). I don't want to go into the whole story because it's pretty detailed, but I have one mean thing to say.

If you have decided to go by the name Cricket, you better have a sweet personality to go with it. Because a horrible name mixed with a horrible personality is just too much to handle. And don't freaking sell stuff on Craig's list if you are then going to be annoyed at people coming to pick the stuff up. I paid you for your old stuff that was sitting in your garage! You should be thanking me for letting you help me load it. GET OVER YOURSELF. Okay- not that she will ever read this, but that made me feel so much better.

Anyway- I have also been pretty successful selling our old crap on there. It's fun. Try it sometime. Now if I could just get my stinking house rented to support my new habit.

Owenisms (again)

He always has something interesting to say.

Yesterday he asked me "Mom- do raindrops come out of buckets or do the clouds poop them out?"

A few days ago, we were walking across a parking lot and when he saw a car coming, he put his arm across me to make me stop. I instantly teared up at that one. He DOES care about me!

Owen had a HUGE breakthrough at swim lessons. He does not like to go under water without holding his nose, but by the end of one lesson, he was doing a butterfly stroke with his face under the water across half the pool! I was amazed and so proud. It's so fun to see him growing up and letting go of his fears. Unfortunately, I am the unprepared mommy who didn't have a camera. But it was exciting all the same!

Baby T Coming Soon!

Hazel and I got to attend Aunt Erin's baby shower today. Isn't her belly SOOO cute? :) Can't wait to see my new nephew!

The happy couple (ha! kidding! but seriously...don't they look like a couple?)

Me and Erin

Hazel wanted to open the present she got Erin (of course)

Erin with Baby T's monkey and Bjorn (from me)

These are Hazel's idea of cute poses

Poor Buffy

I was watching a friend's dog tonight while she went to a movie. Buffy has a broken leg that had to temporarily come out of it's cast because of moisture problems. So he is sedated and can't be allowed to walk on his leg- basically he needs constant attention.

While I was bathing the kids, he stayed in his crate. Hazel walked over to him at one point and cooed at him and kept saying "Poor Buffy." Then she said "Maybe this will make you feel better" and started banging on the door of his crate really hard. Of course I reprimanded her, but it was pretty funny. I wonder why she thought that would help!

Poor Buffy :(

So You Think You Can Dance

So- something is wrong with my DVR and it didn't record the ONLY SHOW I EVER WATCH! I am so ticked off.

Does anyone still have it recorded? Do you want to invite me over to watch it? I will bring snacks! :)

I'm sad.

New Friends

Okay- let me just say that I have plenty of people here that I consider friends, but I have really been needing someone who actually spends her day like I do (and therefore is easy and fun to hang out with). So... meet Bekah (and her little boy Jaxon).

I love her. She has many redeeming qualities, but my favorites are that she likes to go to the gym in the mornings with me, and she cherishes the occasional nap, and she has a pool. Ha. No, really. She has been so much fun to get to know and she is probably the sweetest person that has ever accepted me as a friend. :) And what's even better, she keeps introducing me to all these other great girls that I end up loving! On Saturday, she and her husband hosted a little BBQ/ pool party at their darling house and I just loved everyone that came. It was so much fun and I can't wait to get the same group together again soon!

The kiddos enjoying the cool water (and Hazel diggin a wedgie)

Me chattin it up with Jody (and baby Baer)

Even though most of the hubbies there were in some sort of medical profession, Nathan actually enjoyed himself as well! We felt very relaxed and at ease with everyone there, and that is a rare thing to find. So much fun.

Karaoke Memories

My first experience with karaoke was so fun. I can't believe I had never done it before. Even though there was nobody else there (except Billy Bob cowboy who kept singing sad, slightly off-key country love songs to his enamored wife) we still had fun performing to ourselves! I got extremely drunk on Diet Coke and did a few things that I am still ashamed of, but overall it was a blast!
Thanks for the fun night girls. I already miss you all!
Can you tell how lost we all were?

Props to Cindy for knowing EVERY SINGLE WORD to the 5 minute long song "Baby Got Back."
